About MAA
Malaysia Aikido Association (MAA) origin started back from the early founding in 1975 when it was started by Michael Tham sensei in YMCA, Kuala Lumpur. In 1998, MAA was established independently by Low Sensei, Tony Sensei, Dr leong sensei and Ng sensei.
In 1999, MAA was honored to received the late Seiichi Sugano Shihan as the Master Instructor for MAA.
On 5th August 2002, MAA received official Recognition from Aikido World Headquarters (Hombu Dojo) in Japan. Subsequently MAA was accepted as an Associate Member of the Olympics Council of Malaysia and recognised as a National Sport Association within the National Sports Council.
MAA then registered on 24th June 2009 with the Sports Commission in compliance with the Sports Development Act 1997.
